It`s to unravel the concept of Social Work from a critical perspective regarding the universally accepted philosophy of Palliative Care to requires delving into the nature of these fields. Thus, the objective is to understand the confluence between the nature of Social Work and Palliative Care. The study is based on dialogue between classic and contemporary authors and made possible through a qualitative systematic bibliographic review and the use of thematic content analysis, which made it possible to follow an analytical path that resulted in the gathering of significant thematic groups. The investigation appropriated the meaning of the concept of human dignity, based on its contextualization in each historical and social reality in a dialectical perspective. It is understood that the material conditions of existence must be at the center of attention of mediated care at the interface between the fields of social assistance and health. It is concluded that Palliative Care as an intervention model is based on the rehumanization of care and the understanding of human existence as a right to be preserved. Therefore, the main point of convergence between Social Work and Palliative Care is found in the unprecedented National Palliative Care Plan (NPCP), that is, in the right to a livable life until the end of the life cycle.
