Structure and Superstructure in the New Projectment Economy

The present work analyzes, from a materialist perspective, the New Economy of Projectment. This represents the current stage of Chinese socialism and is characterized primarily by economic planning, production rationalization, and the theoretical diversity of its technical-scientific framework. To analyze it, contributions from renowned authors of Marxist theory were mobilized regarding the superstructure, its relationship with the structure, and its position in a revolutionary historical process. The synthesis of these contributions was applied to the Chinese case, with a focus on the period following Deng Xiaoping’s reforms initiated in 1978, as a way to understand the material foundations that determined the development of the New Economy of Projectment and the historical position of this new concept.
