Abstract

The following text is the translation of an interview originally published in Chinese language in v. 11 of World Socialism Studies. It was translated into English for Monthly Review, v. 75, nº 7, December 2023. In the interview, Gabriel Rockhill, professor of Philosophy at Villanova University (Pennsylvania), talks with Zhao Dingqi, researcher at the Institute of Marxism of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS) and editor of World Socialism Studies. On the agenda, topics such as the strategies and ideological apparatuses of imperialism; the current stage and tasks of Marxist theory; the multiculturalist tendencies currently predominant in the struggles and social movements of the Western world; the planetary growth of neo-fascism, and the tactics to resist the ideological hegemony of the dominant classes, among other topics.
