The aim of this paper is to bring complementary reflections — in relation to a previous work, written in the beginning of the Russian operation on Ukraine — on the historical and political context opened in 2022, in the light of an analysis, held in the second half of the 2010s, concerning the challenges posed by communication practices to the left-wing in this beginning of century. After a brief presentation of the context, in the light of the Leninist concept of imperialism and its history in the 20th century, and after a critique of the interpretations of war made by some European leftist scholars, especially Anselm Jappe, I resume the perspective I proposed in the end of the 2010s on the communication challenge, considering the crisis of hegemony of the United States, which became particularly strong after 2008 crisis. Our ambition is to introduce the reader to a general perspective of the current challenges, considering the economic, political, cultural and communicational phenomena as a totality.
